ABS ASK 8
Horizontal Anchorage Device

The ABS ASK 8 is a horizontal anchorage device in accordance with EN 795 classes B + C. The anchorage cable is designed for temporary implementation on flat and sloping roofs and is hooked up to pre-mounted anchorage points.

The heart of the ABS ASK 8 is a Ø 14mm kernmantle cable which makes the system lighter, more compact and more user-friendly than traditional systems using polyamide cables. Compared to common twisted cables kernmantle cables have the advantage of being considerably lighter and more resilient to wear and tear (no buckling). On top of this, the kernmantle cable allows greater distances to be spanned.

Further advantages: The system is licensed for a maximum distance of up to 20 meters with no intermediate brackets when attached to two solid anchors, such as steel girders, if the situation demands it. This is possible because kernmantle cables stretch less than traditional cables in the case of a fall, thus drastically reducing the fall distance.

The ABS ASK 8 was developed to secure up to four individuals simultaneously. At one end of the kernmantle cable there is a carabiner hook with screw safety device for simple and secure connection to an anchorage point. At the other end of the cable there is a cable clamp tensioning element. In addition, it includes freely-moving carabiner hooks which can be attached to intermediate brackets.
