ABS-Lock® I Telescopic Rod -
For Hooking Up and Unhooking the ABS-Lock® I Socket Pin
The Lock I telescopic rod is an expandable telescopic device used to hook up an ABS-Lock® I socket pin to or unhook it from an ABS-Lock® II anchorage socket installed in the ceiling. The telescopic rod can be adjusted at 10cm intervals up to a total length of 1-4 meters (depending on the model).

Implementation:
The whole purpose of the ABS-Lock® I telescopic rod is to reduce the safety risk when hooking into the fall arrest system.
Situation:
An anchorage point (ABS-Lock® II) is installed in a window lintel. It is located 3.5 meters up and is out of reach without any other aids. The user would have to climb onto a ladder or small stepladder to hook it in. This is often a problem because once the safety harness has been hooked up the window can no longer be opened – the ABS-Lock® I shackle and connecting cable block the window opening.
This means that the window has to be opened prior to hooking into the fall arrest system. In practice this would mean having to stand on a ladder or stepladder in front of a wide-open window without any form of protection at all in order to secure oneself. One small mistake could be lethal.
The Solution:
The ABS-Lock® I telescopic rod allows you to hook up from the floor – with the window wide open! Details as to how this works can be found in the instructions for use in our PDF download section below.
