ABS-Lock® SYS II
Horizontal Fall Protection Cabling System with Full Glide-Over Functionality

The ABS-Lock® SYS II system was developed to provide up to 4 individuals simultaneously with a secure anchorage system allowing them to glide over the intermediate supports by way of a cable glider running along the stainless steel cable, thus providing unlimited freedom of movement.

The system is licensed and CE-tested as a Class C fall protection cabling system in accordance with DIN EN 795. As the cable and mounting components are manufactured completely from stainless steel they are protected from corrosion. The Lock SYS II can be used in conjunction with a large variety of ABS-Lock

The ABS-Lock® SYS II system is mounted on the roof surface using system supports from the ABS-Lock® product series. Due to the large range of system supports which can be used, it is extremely variable and easy to install. As a rule it is installed on force-absorbing supports which minimize the ensuing force in the case of a fall. It also reinforces the end and corner supports.

The glider (top left photo) glides completely over the corner elements (please refer to the photo on the right) and the intermediate brackets (bottom left photo). Normally the detachable cable glider is used. This can be attached at any position within the system, making it part of one’s personal protective equipment kit and easy to handle. For permanent implementation without the necessity of removing the glider we also supply permanently-installed cable gliders for straight and corner configurations (e.g. for use in systems mounted overhead with self-retracting lifelines).

ABS-Lock® SYS II – Glide-Over Cabling System Components

  • The end lock is used wherever it is not possible to install a force-absorbing end support. It serves the purpose of force absorption and is used in particular for small cable systems or on glass roofs.
  • The clevis serves as a connection between the cable and an end support.
  • The chain link makes it possible to easily connect the components to the attachment eyelet.
  • The end tensioning element makes it possible to tighten up the wire cable and reduce the degree of sag. The ABS-Lock® SYS II system does not require a specific level of tension to guarantee optimum functionality.
  • The intermediate bracket can move freely and adjusts itself to the position of the cable glider in order to guarantee an optimum glide-over effect.
  • The ABS-Lock® stainless steel cable has ideal, energy-absorbing properties which do not have any negative impact on its load-supporting capacity, wear and tear or resistance to corrosion.
  • The cable glider can be attached or removed at any point within the system and also works in conjunction with self-retracting lifelines. As it is removable, the system can be applied absolutely anywhere.

End tensioning elements at the end of the cable ensure that the cable is pre-tensioned and does not sag. In the industrial and many other areas, such as building frontages, crane systems, truck loading, roof areas etc., safety is considerably enhanced by the Lock SYS II system. It allows safe freedom of movement around corners without it being necessary to detach/reattach the cable. Energy-absorbing end units considerably reduce the ensuing force in the case of a fall.
